The game had a difficult development cycle, during which a substantial part of it was initially designed for the Nintendo GameCube. Due to Microsoft`s acquisition of Rare in 2002, the game was eventually released as a launch title exclusively for the Xbox 360 in November 2005, along with Rare`s action-adventure game Kameo: Elements of Power.
