Philip Edward Fisher trained at the Juilliard School and the Royal Academy of Music, having attended the Purcell School of Music, London. Born and raised in Birmingham, England, he received his first piano lessons from his father at the age of 9, making his concerto debut only 3 years later with a performance of Shostakovich's Second Piano Concerto at the city's Symphony Hall. In 2001, he received the Julius Isserlis Scholarship from the Royal Philharmonic Society of London. He subsequently gave his New York City debut at the Lincoln Center in 2002 with Rachmaninov's Third Piano Concerto, conducted by Larry Rachleff.
