Pniow [p?uf] (formerly German Pinnow) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Torzym, within Sul?cin County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland. Before 1945 the area was part of Germany. Gmina Torzym is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Sul?cin County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland. Its seat is the town of Torzym, which lies approximately 16 kilometres (10 mi) south of Sul?cin, 49 km (30 mi) south of Gorzow Wielkopolski, and 51 km (32 mi) north-west of Zielona Gora. The gmina covers an area of 374.87 square kilometres (144.7 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 6,796 (out of which the population of Torzym amounts to 2,456, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 4,340). Sul?cin County (Polish: powiat sul?ci?ski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Lubusz Voivodeship, western Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998.
