High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! PracticeWorks is practice management software for dental offices. It was originally created in 1993 by Brian Smith and Joel Kozikowski of Crown Systems, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana. The current version is 7.0. The program is constructed in a modular form with an administrative module, voice activation module, charting module, and imaging module. The program is both compact and potentially expandable to a “paperless” office depending on the different modules added. Practice management software (PMS) is a category of software that deals with the day-to-day operations of a medical practice. Such software frequently allows users to capture patient demographics, schedule appointments, maintain lists of insurance payers, perform billing tasks, and generate reports. In the United States, most PMS systems are designed for small to medium-sized medical offices. Some of the software is designed for or used by third-party medical billing companies.
