High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! In technology entrepreneurship, Pre-chasm attempts to describe the phase prior to Geoffrey Moore's Crossing the Chasm that focuses on the specifics of marketing high tech products during the early start up period. The term Pre-chasm was suggested by Tor Gr nsund as an extension to Geoffrey Moore's model, arguing that the phase prior to the "chasm" is left unintended and that it, driven by technology commoditization and Lean Startup principles, requires an ambidextrous approach to product development along-side marketing to achieve product-market fit. Technology commoditization borrows from the term commodity in business economics. In terms of the Pre-chasm, technology commoditization enables entrepreneurs to found and build their companies at a lower cost, at the same time as the barrier to entry is reduced and competition more fierce.
