Preeti Chandrakant (born 1963) is a Zurich based Swiss Indian artist, and film maker, who was born in Mumbai, and educated in film and ethnology in the United States and Switzerland. Chandrakant creates what she calls "Time Pieces", "Living Works of Art" and "Time Capsules". Her work explores the interrelationship between experience, transformation and power. Her recent work One Veiled Question was shown at the Art Basel, from a series of six Time Pieces called This Art is Immaterial. Chandrakant's early works have been shown at galleries, museums and cultural institutions in many countries. Her films have premiered at the Palais Palffy in Vienna, the Palazzo Pitti in Florence, the Locarno and Trento International Film Festivals, the Festival Max Ophuls Preis, and the Mumbai International Film Festival among others.
