It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the world's second largest wine and spirits producer Pernod Ricard, and distributes many of their key brands within Australia. In 1989 Pernod Ricard purchased Orlando Wines, and then a year later, in 1990, the Hunter Valley winery Wyndham Estate. The same year the Orlando Wyndham Group was formed by the drawing together of the two companies. In 2005 Pernod Ricard took over Allied Domecq and the New Zealand business unit Allied Domecq NZ was integrated into the company which was subsequently renamed to Pernod Ricard Pacific. Pernod Ricard (Euronext: RI) is a French company that produces alcoholic beverages. The company's most famous products, Pernod Anise and Ricard Pastis, are both anise liqueurs, and often referred to as simply Pernod or Ricard. The company also produces several other types of pastis.
