High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Prince Edward is a station of the MTR rapid transit system in Hong Kong. It is located in Northern Mong Kok, Kowloon, under the intersection of Nathan Road and Prince Edward Road West. The station is named after this road. The station's livery is Pale Purple. Although the Kwun Tong Line tracks had already been laid for the station in 1979, Prince Edward was not opened until the Tsuen Wan Line opened on 10 May 1982, since the station was designed principally for the purpose of interchanging to ease the expected overcrowded interchange at Mong Kok Station. While the latter was designed to aid in transferring passengers to the Tsuen Wan Line for cross-harbour transport, Prince Edward acts as a faster interchange for passengers wishing to go north on the Tsuen Wan Line rather than head towards Hong Kong Island.
