Speaking skills include: • clarifying issues in a discussion; • raising / dealing with an objection; • expressing and dealing with uncertainty; • summarizing; • referring to research. Reading skills include: • highlighting key points; • recognizing and recording sources; • making inferences; • reacting to texts; • understanding sentence relationships. Writing skills include: • linking sentences; • restating (avoiding plagiarism); • supporting statements with evidence; • writing about graphs; • using lexical cohesions.
