The R7 was a New York City Subway car built in 1937 by two manufacturers under separate orders, the American Car and Foundry Company and Pullman. The R7s were built for the "B" Division and replaced in the 1970s by the R46. Car 1440 survives at the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine, coupled to R4 800 and is used in various tourist rides around the museum. American Car and Foundry (often abbreviated as ACF) is a manufacturer of railroad rolling stock. One of its subsidiaries was once (1925–54) a manufacturer of motor coaches and trolley coaches under the brand names of (first) ACF and (later) ACF-Brill. Today ACF is known as ACF Industries LLC and is based in St. Charles, Missouri.
