Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. R8A was a class of New York City Subway revenue cars built in 1939 by the St. Louis Car Company, and used to gather and transport tokens from stations along the IND division. 66 and 67 were the only two cars built. The R8As were blind motors. 66 and 67 were last operated in the 1970s, after which they were removed from service. They spent a short time at the Jamaica Yard being used as training cars. They were probably scrapped in the 1980s. At one point, 66 and 67 were renumbered 20176 and 20177. Then, in the 1970s, they were again renumbered 30176 and 30177.
