High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Rafiq Wazir Ali was an ex-member of the popular Pakistani pop band, Strings. While studying at the Government Commerce College in Karachi in 1988, in his first year of Intermediate studies he was approached by Bilal Maqsood to play the synthesiser for the band. Young in his 20s, Ali played for the band and recorded two of the bands first album until in 1992, the quartet was disbanded to continue studies. When Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia later approached Ali to re-form the band, Ali is reported to have declined the offer as he was well settled in his new life. The band was continued with only two of the former four members with Kareem Bashir Bhoy also backing out of the restarted venture.
