Rage Against the Machine is a Los Angeles-based band formed in 1991 by Zack de la Rocha (vocals), Tom Morello (guitar), Tim Commerford (bass) and Brad Wilk (drums). The band is noted both for its blend of hip hop, heavy metal, punk, and funk, and its revolutionary politics and lyrics. Rage Against the Machine have released four full-length studio albums, one of which is a cover album. From these works, 17 singles have been released, with 13 accompanying music videos. They have also released three video albums and two live albums. All of their studio albums have been RIAA certificated as Platinum, of which two were Billboard number ones.
