High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival is Hawaii's LGBT film festival and was originally called the Adam Baran Film Festival was founded in 1989 . The festival's name was changed under the leadership of Executive Director, Brett Edward Stout. The festival is the primary event of the Honolulu Gay and Lesbian Cultural Foundation (HGLCF). The HGLCF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to educate and raise awareness of the community at large about gay and lesbian culture, arts and lifestyle. The festival takes place at the Doris Duke Theatre at the Honolulu Academy of Arts in May of each year. The Festival is currently directed by filmmaker Connie Florez.
