Rale Micic, born October 9, 1975 in Belgrade, Serbia) is an Serbian jazz guitarist and composer. One of the most successful and critically acclaimed jazz musicians to emerge from Serbia. Micic moved to United States in 1995, after receiving a scholarship from the Berklee College of Music, where he studied with George Garzone, John Thomas and Bob Brookmeyer. It was also by that time that the guitar guru, Mick Goodrick, became Rale Micic's mentor.Micic moved to New York City in 2000. Micic's debut album Bridges (CTA Records, 2003) mixed jazz with Balkan music.
