Ralph Arthur Bohlmann (born February 20, 1932 (1932-02-20) (age 78) in Palisade, Nebraska) is a former president of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, having held that office from 1981 to 1992. The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) is a traditional, Confessional Lutheran Christian denomination in the United States. With 2.4 million members, it is both the eighth largest Protestant denomination and the second-largest Lutheran body in the U.S. after the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The Synod was founded at Chicago, Illinois, in 1847 by German immigrants. The LCMS is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.
