He directed 171 films between 1910 and 1937. He also appeared in 110 films between 1907 and 1937. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts and died in a road accident in London, England. He was the younger brother of Thomas and John Ince. The Uninvited Guest (1924) was a drama film directed by Ralph Ince, and starring Maurice "Lefty" Flynn, Jean Tolley, Mary MacLaren, William Bailey, and Louis Wolheim. The film was shot partially in the Bahamas, and was released by Metro Pictures a few months before the merger that created Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
