High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Ralph Reese is an American artist who illustrated for books, magazines and comic books from the 1960s to the 1990s. He was recognized for his work in comics with a Shazam Award for Best Inker (Humor Division) in 1973 and 1974. While attending the High School of Art and Design in New York City, Reese began his career in 1966 at age 16, as an assistant to artist Wally Wood. He worked on a variety of Wood projects, from Topps trading cards to the DC Comics series Superboy, to Wood's early mature-audience, independent-comics publications witzend (1966) and Heroes, Inc. Presents Cannon (1969). Of this time, Reese has recalled.
