High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Ram FM is the Independent Local Radio station broadcasting to the Derby area on 102.8 FM. It is owned by Global Radio. The transmitter is situated at Drum Hill, five miles north of Derby, near Little Eaton. Ram FM is also available as an audio stream on the Internet and will be available on DAB digital radio soon as part of the NOW Derbyshire DAB Multiplex. The station began life in 1987 as "Trent 945", also broadcasting on AM 945khz. In October 1988 the AM frequency was launched as a separate oldies service called GEM AM; that service also continues today now known as "GOLD".
