Randy Thomas (born November 15, 1954 in Denison, Texas) is an American Christian musician best known for being a member of the Sweet Comfort Band and Allies. In 1984 He formed "Allies" with Sam Scott and teamed up with Bob Carlisle. They spent 9 years between 84-93 doing concerts and recording six albums. The biggest project with Allies was "Long way from Paradise." Randy wrote material for artists such as Bob Carlisle, Sir Cliff Richard, Raybon Brothers, and Jeff Carson as well as for Dolly Parton, Hank Williams Jr., Highway 101, Colin Raye, and Englebert Humperdinck. Randy performed as a guitarist with international Country music artists Shania Twain, Paul Brandt, and later SheDAISY. He shared the 1997 Grammy Award for Best Country Song with Bob Carlisle for writing the song "Butterfly Kisses (song)." Randy was half of Identical Strangers (Damascus Road Records) with Andy Denton in 1995.
