Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Ranger was a resident of White Deer Park and the son of Scarface and Lady Blue in The Animals of Farthing Wood. Ranger is the most peaceful of Scarface's cubs. He meets Charmer by the stream and is immediately attracted to her. First, he says "Would I hurt anything so lovely?", then, when Charmer tells Ranger her name, he replies: "I can see why." Later, he promises Fox that he would not fight for his family (the blue foxes), but that he would not fight against them, either. He is also the only blue fox to be seen in Season 3 (the whereabouts of Lady Blue and the others are unknown and never explained). At the end of the series, he is passed over as leader of the Farthing animals in favor of Plucky. The reasoning is: "Through him, you have a direct link to the original spirit of Farthing Wood." Fox also admits, in the last minutes of the series, to Ranger that he is "the bravest, and finest fox there is".
