Rani Mraz was formed in 1978 by a former Zetva member or e Balasevic and Verica Todorovic. During the initial period the band had numerous lineup changes, but during 1978 the band recorded several hit singles and sold a large number of 7" records. Balasevic's emotional lyrics and simple melodies with pop music elements saw huge success. Former Suncokret members Bora or evic and Biljana Krstic joined the band in 1978, becoming the members of the most famous, but short lasting Rani Mraz lineup.
