Ratta Matta is a town and Union council of Jhang District in the Punjab province of Pakistan located on the Jhang-Lalian road. Before the land reforms of Ayub Khan, the Sayyads of the town held proprietorship of 12 villages including: Ratta, Matta, Hashim Wala, Rajay Wala, Khalar Awan, Panjgirain, Shergarh and Pippal. This town rose to national prominence because of the famous politicians of the town. Notable people include Safdar Abbas Sial the Union Nazim of Ratta Matta. Ratta Matta was introduced as local state in 1820. 1st ruler was Sher Shah. He have 900 murubah zameen, later from his name introduced a veillage named Sher Gurh in state of ratta matta. Later his family shift in ratta khurd.
