This presents a portfolio of electroacoustic works for multi-speaker diffusion that includes pieces combining studio composition with image and free improvisation. They were realized at the University of Wales Bangor between September 1999 and April 2003. Characterized by intense peaks and troughs of tension oscillating between the real and the imaginary, these works are an intuitive exploration of sound as a plastic medium. Natural energy trajectories, evolutionary properties, rhythms of language and elements of culture collide and weave multithread vectors providing a complex musical experience. With transformations, inventive articulation and detailed editing I have incorporated a wide range of sonic materials, processes and concepts in this work addressing technical, aesthetic and philosophical issues and outlining a system for sonic architecture. This text provides an insight into the creative process and a glimpse of the complex world of sound and ideas I was concerned with at the time.
