High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Rhine in Flammen (English: "Rhine in Flames") is the name of four different fireworks along the river Rhine in Germany. The fireworks are set place annually at different specific sections along the river. At four different dates lightly illuminated ships go down the river in convoy in the evening in order to let their passengers see the complete set of fireworks at this section of the river. The fireworks are started when the ships arrive. During the fireworks at St. Goar and St. Goarshausen the convoy does not move. The ships wait statically between the castles Burg Maus and Burg Rheinfels. On the river banks wine festivals take place that attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. The biggest ceremony of "Rhein in Flammen" takes place at Koblenz every year at the second Saturday of August, while the most popular takes place at the Rheinauen Park in Bonn at the first Saturday of May.
