High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Rheydt Hauptbahnhof (usually translated from German as Rheydt Central Station, short form: Rheydt Hbf) is a railway station in Monchengladbach, Germany. It is unique in the fact that Monchengladbach is actually the only city in Germany that does have two stations called Hauptbahnhof associated with it. This is the result of the merger of the city Rheydt into Monchengladbach in the late 1970s. After the merging of the two cities the station was not renamed to Monchengladbach-Rheydt as in all other cases where cities were merged in the 1970s. The Deutsche Bundesbahn retained the name (and the name of suburban stops like Rheydt-Odenkirchen). Therefore, Monchengladbach is the only city in Germany to have two stations named central station, Monchengladbach Hbf and Rheydt Hauptbahnhof.
