High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a hospital located in Ahoskie, North Carolina. It is apart of the University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina (UHSEC). In 1948, the hospital was the first hospital to use the Hill-Burton Act to construct a hospital. UHSEC took over management in 1997. The hospital has 86 general and 28 psychiatric hospital beds. It also has five Shared Inpatient/Ambulatory Surgery, one C-Section, and one Endoscopy operating rooms. University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina (UHS) is a non-profit hospital system made up of eight hospitals in 29 counties in eastern North Carolina. UHS owns six and manages two hospitals. It also includes physician practices, home health, hospice, wellness centers and other health care services. The system is affiliated with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville.
