Rob joined Waterloo Road as a PE teacher at the start of series 4. In his first episode, he caught the attentions of Jasmine Koreshi, Steph Haydock, and the homosexual Matt Wilding. He started up a boxing club in school and thought that Bolton Smilie had genuine boxing talent and trained him up in the following weeks, however after Bolton entered an illegal boxing match, Rob refused to train him anymore. It took two weeks for Rob to reaccept an apologetic Bolton who still continued his training after the illegal match. He later gives Bolton some mystery pills at his first official boxing match but when Rachel finds out she suspends him.Up until this point, Jasmine Koreshi (English Teacher) had been his girlfriend but she dumps him.
