Farnborough is a town in north east Hampshire, England, and part of the district of Rushmoor. Farnborough was founded in Saxon times and is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. The name is formed from Ferneberga which means "fern hill". The town is probably best known as the home of the Farnborough Airshow. It is also home to the newly promoted Farnborough F.C. currently playing in the Conference South league, Farnborough Aerodrome, the Air Accidents Investigation Branch, the Sixth Form College, Farnborough and the international headquarters of both BAE Systems and QinetiQ.
