High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Robbie Engelquist is a Canadian comedian and rapper from Vancouver, British Columbia. He has performed at various venues across British Columbia and is a respected comedian who deals with the subject matter of schizophrenia. His acts are unique in the way of how he makes fun of his mental disability, since he was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 18. Engelquist is also an up-and-coming rapper and his material usually relates closely to his mental illness. At a young age Engelquist heard voices in his head, but assumed that other children also heard these "voices", and simply did not think anything was wrong with him. He had frequent outbursts at home and at school and was eventually put into Riverview Hospital, a mental health facility in Coquitlam. After 6 months in Riverview, Engelquist was diagnosed with schizophrenia, and was then prescribed medication.
