High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Robert John Bissell (born August 15, 1952) is a British-born American artist and sculptor. A New York Times art critic once commented that Bissell's work "disarms by narrating vitally grown-up and urgent allegories in the guise of childlike humor." Bissell was raised in Somerset, England, an atmosphere which nurtured his love of art, rural life, Celtic legends, and panoramic landscapes. He studied graphic design and earned a master's degree from The Royal College of Art in London. After graduating, Bissell moved to San Francisco and began a career in retail advertising. After 15 years, he decided to devote all his time to painting. He currently lives in Northern California.
