Lorge was the 2006 Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, running against the incumbent Democrat Herb Kohl. Kohl won the election with almost 70% of the vote. Lorge previously was the Republican nominee for Wisconsin Secretary of State in 2002 and was a candidate for the United States Senate in 2004.
