Robert Hall Lewis (April 11 1926 Portland, Oregon - March 22 1996) was an American composer, conductor, and educator. He graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a master's and doctorate degrees in music in 1964, where he studied with Bernard Rogers, Burrill Phillips and Howard Hanson. He also studied in Paris with Nadia Boulanger, and Vienna Academy of Music with Hans Erich Apostel. He taught at Goucher College from in 1957, and at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. From 1964 to 1983, he was artistic director of the Baltimore Chamber Music Society. He was married; they had one daughter. His papers are held at the Library of Congress.
