Robert Fleming Heizer (Denver, Colorado on July 13, 1915–1979) was an American anthropologist who specialized in the Native American peoples of North America. He was an enthusiastic teacher, and taught anthropology at the University of Oregon (1940–1941), University of California at Los Angeles, (1945–1946), and the University of California at Berkley, where he taught until 1976. Heizer was also the Curator of the Lowie Museum of Anthropology. The University of California, Berkeley (also referred to as Cal, California, Berkeley, Cal-Berkeley, and UC Berkeley), is a public research university located in Berkeley, California, United States. The oldest of the ten major campuses affiliated with the University of California, the University was founded in 1868 in a merger of the private College of California and the public Agricultural, Mining, and Mechanical Arts College.
