Robert Henry Bow FRSE (1832-1908) was a Scottish civil engineer and photographer. Bow worked with Edward Sang and Thomas Bouch, and his textbooks Economics of Construction in Relation to Framed Structures (1871) and Treatise on Bracing in relation to Bridges and other Structures (1874) drew on calculations he had conducted for Bouch. Sir Thomas Bouch (pronounced /'ba t /) (25 February 1822 – 30 October 1880) was a British railway engineer in Victorian Britain. He was born in Thursby, Cumberland, England and lived in Edinburgh. He helped develop the caisson and the roll-on/roll-off train ferry. He worked initially for the North British Railway and helped design parts of Waverley Station in Edinburgh.
