High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Rt Rev. Robert Sidney Ladds SSC is an English prelate who served as Suffragan Bishop of Whitby from 1999 to 2008. He was born on 15 November 1941 and educated at Canterbury Christ Church University. Ordained in 1981 he began his career with a curacy in Hythe, Kent and was then successively Chaplain to the Bishop of Blackburn, Vicar of Bretherton and finally (before his elevation to the Episcopate) Archdeacon of Lancaster. A keen gardener he was a Chemistry Teacher at Borden Grammar School, Sittingbourne before becoming a clergyman. He is the current Superior-General of the Society of Mary.
