Lieberman was 1980 the first winner of the DGA Award as Best Commercial Director. He was nominated another three times for the DGA Award and won 1996 his second award. Lieberman was married from 27 June 1990 to 7 June 2001 with actress Marilu Henner, the divorced couple has two children Nicholas Morgan and Joseph Marlon. Marilu Henner (born April 6, 1952) is an American actress, producer and author. Born Mary Lucy Denise Henner in Chicago, Illinois to a Greek mother and Polish father. Marilu's father and brother changed the family name from "Pudlowski" to "Henner" for business purposes.
