Robert Perez Palou was born in Linyola, Catalonia, Spain. Son to a farmer he also grew up to become one despite his early displays of artistic talents. With no access to formal art education, Perez developed his technique on his own. On 1988 he began to professionally paint, and on 1995 he discontinued the farming activity to devote himself completely to painting. Since then his notoriety has been rapidly increasing, participating in art shows in Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Dubai, Tokyo and Madrid among others. Perez specialized on portrait painting on using pastel techniques. His mastery of the technique has allowed him to paint portraits with high level of accuracy and detail, making his paintings close to photo-realistic.
