Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Established in 1909, the Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science is one of eleven schools at Northwestern University. Most engineering classes are held in the Technological Institute, which students often refer to as "Tech." In October 2005, another building called the Ford Motor Company Engineering Design Center opened. The trustees of Northwestern University ambitiously founded a college of Technology in June 1873, but in his report for 1876-77 President Oliver Marcy announced failure of the college due to lack of financial resources to develop the faculty and facilities.
