The Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese of Maria Santissima in Astana (Latin: Archidioecesis Sanctae Mariae in Astanansis) is an ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Kazakhstan. Pope John Paul II erected it as the Apostolic Administration of Astana on July 7, 1999, and elevated it to the Archdiocese of Maria Santissima in Astana ("Mary Most Holy in Asanta") on May 17, 2003, with the suffragan sees of Atyrau, Karaganda, and Santissima Trinita in Almaty. The archdiocese's motherchurch and thus seat of its archbishop is the Cathedral of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. The first and current Archbishop of Maria Santissima in Astana is His Excellency Tomasz Peta, having been appointed by John Paul II on May 17, 1999.
