The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Montreal (Latin: Archdioecesis Marianopolitanis) is a Roman Catholic archdiocese that includes part of the Province of Quebec. The Archbishop of Montreal is Metropolitan of a province that includes the suffragan dioceses of Joliette, Saint-Jean-Longueuil, Saint-Jerome, and Valleyfield. It is currently led by Cardinal Jean-Claude Turcotte, with the assistance of Auxiliary Bishop Andre Gazaille. As of 2004, the archdiocese contains 219 parishes, 584 active diocesan priests, 699 religious priests, and 1,600,000 Catholics. It also has 4,702 Women Religious, 1,179 Religious Brothers, and 103 permanent deacons.
