Ozamiz is the Archdiocese in the Province of Misamis Occidental, on the island of Mindanao. The Diocese of Ozamiz was erected on 27 January 1951, for the whole province of Misamis Occidental. The Archiocese comprises the following diocese: Dipolog, Iligan, Marawi, Pagadian. On February 17, 1971 Pope Paul VI elevated the Prelature of Ozamiz into a diocese. On the 24th of January 1983, the diocese was elevated to an archdiocese.
