Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Italian Catholic diocese of Concordia-Pordenone (historically Concordia Veneta) is suffragan of the archdiocese of Venice. The name was changed in 1971. Concordia is an ancient Venetian city, called by the Romans Colonia Concordia, and is situated between the Rivers Tagliamento and Livenza, not far from the Adriatic. Today there remain of the city only ruins and the ancient cathedral. During the fifth century the city was destroyed by Attila and again in 606 by the Lombards, after which it was never rebuilt. The eighty-nine martyrs of Concordia, who were put to death under Diocletian, are held in great veneration.
