Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Jeonju, is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic church in South Korea. Erected as an Apostolic Vicariate in 1937, the diocese became a suffragan diocese to the Archdiocese of Gwangju in 1977. A diocese is the district or see under the supervision of a bishop, it is divided into parishes. An archdiocese is more significant than a diocese. An archdiocese is presided over by an archbishop whose see may have or had importance due to size or historical significance. The archbishop may have metropolitan authority over any other (then 'suffragan') bishops and their dioceses within his archdiocese.
