The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kandy (Lat: Dioecesis Kandiensis) is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church in Sri Lanka. Originally erected as the apostolic vicariate of Kandy in 1883, the diocese was elevated to a full diocese in 1886, and became a suffragan to the Archdiocese of Colombo. In 1972, part of the diocese was split off to form the Diocese of Badulla The current bishop is Joseph Vianney Fernando, appointed in 1983. A diocese is the district or see under the supervision of a bishop, it is divided into parishes. An archdiocese is more significant than a diocese.
