Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kyiv-Zhytomyr (Latin: Dioecesis Kioviensis-Zytomeriensis) is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church in Ukraine. Jan Purwinski is the current bishop of the diocese. He was appointed to the See of Kyiv-Zhytomyr in 1992. The history of the diocese begins in 1925, when the diocese of Lutsk-Zhytomyr was split into the dioceses of Lutsk and Zhytomyr. In 1998, the diocese of Zhytomyr was renamed the diocese of Kyiv-Zhytomyr. In May 2002, a substantial portion of the diocese was split off to form the diocese of Kharkiv-Zaporizhia.
