Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lincoln (Latin: Dioecesis Lincolnensis) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Nebraska, and comprises the majority of the eastern and central portions of the state south of the Platte River. The episcopal see is in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was founded on August 2, 1887, by Pope Leo XIII. The current bishop is Fabian Bruskewitz. The diocese is regarded as one of the most conservative in the United States. Bruskewitz has forbidden Catholics in the diocese to join a number of organizations, including Call to Action and several Masonic groups, under pain of excommunication. The Lincoln diocese is also the only one in the United States that does not allow girls to act as altar servers.
