The Roman Catholic diocese of Lucon (ancient Lucionensis), is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic church in France. The diocese comprises the department of Vendee. It was suppressed by the Concordat of 1801 and annexed to the Diocese of La Rochelle; however, its re-establishment was urged in the Concordat of 11 June 1817 and came into effect in 1821. The diocese of Lucon then comprised the territory of the ancient diocese (minus a few parishes incorporated in the diocese of Nantes) and almost all the former diocese of Maillezais. The current bishop is Alain Castet, appointed on April 14, 2008.
