Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Maasin (Lat: Dioecesis Maasinensis) is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines. Erected in 1968, the diocese was created from territory in the Archdiocese of Palo. The diocese has experienced no jurisdictional changes, and is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Cebu. The current bishop is Precioso D. Cantillas, appointed in 1998. A diocese is the district or see under the supervision of a bishop, it is divided into parishes. An archdiocese is more significant than a diocese. An archdiocese is presided over by an archbishop whose see may have or had importance due to size or historical significance.
