The Roman Catholic Diocese of Malolos (Lat: Dioecesis Malolosinus) is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines. The diocese was erected in 1961 from its metropolitan, the Archdiocese of Manila. The Diocese of Malolos was created on November 25, 1961. On March 11, 1962, the Malolos Cathedral became the site of the formal installation of the first resident bishop of Malolos, Most Reverend Manuel del Rosario, D.D. For Malolos, it was a new chapter in its already fabled history. It was the late Pope John XXIII who created the Diocese of Malolos as a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Manila. In the celebration, Bishop del Rosario was installed by Archbishop Salvatore Siino, then papal nuncio to the Philippines.
